Autobiography and memoir are two of the most widely read and fastest-evolving forms of literature. From confessional letters and diary entries to prize-winning non-fiction and celebrity tell-alls, these genres of literature are pouring off the shelves every year and attracting both new writers and readers.

As a popular form with a dazzlingly broad range, how do you begin to tell your story and make it memorable? Led by novelist and poet Patrick McGuinness, this workshop will explore a non-traditional approach to autobiographical writing inspired by Patrick's award-winning memoir Other People's Countries.

There will be readings and discussions surrounding existing works, and exercises to help you develop your own writing style and techniques.
