Daniel Pizamiglio & Romain Beltrão Teule
Previsão do Tempo (Weather Forecast)
Portugal/France

Our 10th anniversary is also an opportunity to welcome back previous artists and see their new works in development. 2016 Best of BE tour winner Romian Teule joins us again, this time with collaborator Daniel Pizamiglio and their new show.

Previsão do Tempo is an amusing theatrical essay on the passage of time and about letting the unknown enter in to our lives. This piece is a paradox, a space where each fear and incomprehension transforms itself into a playful, sometimes childish, game.

Supported by Supported by Espaço Alkantara; Rua das Gavotas 6; Cão Solteiro; PAD.

Running time: 30 minutes.

Ça Marche
Silence
Spain

With political and environmental turmoil threatening human existence on the planet, how can we dream the best future for our world? Some would argue we have exhausted all current modes of thought and must we return to a childlike state of dreaming - free of inhibitions, untainted by imagined reason or ethics. Should this return to infancy be the foundations of a new future? Or will it all end in a giant meltdown?

Catalan company Ça Marche and a cast of children create a suspended moment on stage, where the parents are not 'there', or at least, they are not watching us. Amongst the improvised chaos, snow and giant blow up monsters, Silence explores the future of the world and coexistence with our ghosts.

Supported by Espaço Alkantara; Rua das Gavotas 6; Cão Solteiro; PAD.

Running time: 30 minutes.

Cie Moost
Promises of Uncertainty
France/Switzerland

Another returning face to the festival is Swiss dare devil Marc Oosterhoff. In a monochrome universe, accompanied live by the cosmic sounds of Raphael Raccuia, Marc transforms into a naive explorer. In a world of strange rules, a mix of innocent games and trials by fire, is he a victim of chance or the author of his own fate?

Promises of Uncertainty is a nail biting blend of dance, theatre, and circus; promising uncertainty but a guaranteed move toward the edge of your seat.

Co-production credits: L'Echandole, L'Abri. Support from: Prohelvetia, Corodis.

Running time: 50 minutes.

Gathering Tides

Gathering Tides have a completely fresh approach to traditional and contemporary folk music from around the world. Embedding together elements of funk, jazz, rock and more, this young and innovative band transcend genre labels. Their unique line-up of fiddle, electric guitar, saxophone, bass, cajón and percussion allows them to slip effortlessly from heavy riffs to danceable grooves, or from fiery fiddle tunes to improvisation.
