Arts Award

The REP is an official Arts Award Supporter.

Arts Award is a nationally recognised scheme that supports young people aged from 11 to 25 to develop as artists and arts professionals. The scheme is run through a partnership of Arts Council England and Trinity Guildhall.

Through Arts Award at Bronze, Silver and Gold levels, young people aged 11-25 can explore any of the art forms including performing arts, visual arts, literature, media and multimedia. The award builds confidence, helps young people to enjoy cultural activities, and prepares them for further education or employment.

The REP offers opportunities for young people to take part in the arts through our network of youth theatres, participatory workshops led by professionals in schools and community settings. Young people are given the chance to enjoy and appreciate the arts through our varied range of productions, for which discounted and free tickets are available through The REP’s ‘Mad To Miss’ scheme.

The REP offers work placements throughout the year, which can vary from project based placements for college and university students to work experience for year 10 and 11 students which give them the chance to work with professionals across the organisation. As The REP is also a registered Arts Award Centre, students on our work experience programme also have the opportunity to complete a Bronze Arts ward during their placement.

Young people can meet arts professionals through workshops, careers events, theatre days, post show discussions and with opportunities to interview members of REP staff. This allows young people to gain a better understanding of the theatre industry and the range of career opportunities available.
