Theatre Art Finds a Home in The Pavillions

The REP’s Art Class have been busy producing their latest paintings, based on the theme of ‘Home.’ This work is to tie in with the 2012 International Dance Festival produced by DanceXchange and the Birmingham Hippodrome. The paintings are being exhibited at the Pavilions shopping centre in Birmingham City Centre as part of DanceXchange’s participatory dance production, also called ‘Home.’ DanceXchange are in residence at a shop unit in the Pavilions until 13th May, and the REP Art Class’s paintings will be on display there until then.

The REP Art Class meet on Thursday mornings at the theatre’s offices in the Jewellery Quarter to take part in drawing and painting classes. Supported by art tutor Jenny Ricks, the participants have grown in confidence and skill.

The REP are currently looking for new people to join the Art Class. If you’re free on Thursday mornings and interested in getting involved, contact The REP’s Learning & Participation team on 0121 245 2092 or email learning@birmingham-rep.co.uk
