Will You Be At Artsfest? We Will!
The REP is everywhere this ArtsFest and there really is something for everyone. Here’s some information to help you navigate your way around what we’ve got on offer for ArtsFest 2010.
We’ll be in the GAME store on the lower level of the Bullring to showcase the World Premiere of Paul Jenkins’ new play First Person Shooter. You can test your skill on EA Games bestselling Medal of Honour to win great prizes.
We’ll be in City Centre Gardens, behind The REP with special activities for children and families based around our Christmas show: The Secret Garden including storymaking workshops, visual arts activities and an interactive treasure hunt.
We’ll be on the Centenary Square stage ready to dazzle you with musical highlights from our current show, the greatest ever science-fiction-spoof musical Little Shop Of Horrors.
Also, keep your eyes and ears peeled on Saturday for special events led by students of Birmingham School of Acting and our Young REP. Get to The City Centre gardens behind The REP at midday and head down to the Tourist Information Centre on New Street for 2pm for a real treat!
There’ll be showcase performances in The Door from a variety of artists and companies.
We’ll be back in City Centre Gardens, behind The REP with storytelling sessions for all the family, bringing The Secret Garden to life. (Individual sessions start at 13.30, 14.30 and 15.30.)
The talented young people from our youth theatre, The Young REP will perform an extract from Martin Crimp’s Face The Wall.
We’ll also have an Ask It! stall open all weekend for any information you need to know about The REP and the ArtsFest ticket booth will be packed with special ticket offers from The REP – get there early as they’re likely to sell out!
Artsfest is the UK’s largest free arts festival. Taking place in Birmingham city centre on 11 & 12 September there are literally hundreds of free events for you to choose from. Visit artsfest.org.uk for more information.
