Read reviews for The REP's Double Bill at The Old Rep Theatre

Our double bill of The Importance Of Being Earnest and Travesties at The Old Rep Theatre are in full swing and the reviews are flooding in.

We hope you’ll manage to catch one, if not both plays before their runs end on 22 October, but in the meantime you can read some of what the critics have to say:

Philip Wilson’s revival for Birmingham Rep is crisp and intelligent
The Guardian on The Importance Of Being Earnest

Directed with a tremendous sense of fun, Tom Stoppard’s Alice in Wonderland, rollercoaster mix of politics, modern literature and Dadaism, runs in tandem with Wilde’s The Importance of Being Earnest, and the similarities and eccentricities which link the two plays have been cunningly highlighted by Philip Wilson who, working with a splendid group of actors, deserves all our praise.
The Stage on Travesties

One of the best plays I’ve seen this year.
Birmingham Post on Travesties

“A fast-paced festival of wit”
Birmingham Mail on The Importance Of Being Earnest

Why not take a look at the fabulous production photographs on the Travesties and The Importance Of Being Earnest pages to get a feel for both shows, which run until Sat 22 October. Tickets are still available, starting from £10 each at certain performances, with a range of concessions available.
