Ratty, Mole, Toad and Badger Join Birmingham Repertory Theatre for Christmas 2012
Today is Birmingham Repertory Theatre’s 99th birthday and to celebrate, the company has announced the family favourite The Wind In The Willows as its 2012 Christmas production.
While The REP’s Centenary Square building undergoes re-development alongside the Library of Birmingham, the brand new production of Kenneth Grahame’s classic story will be presented at the Crescent Theatre in Brindleyplace.
Stuart Rogers, Executive Director of Birmingham Repertory Theatre says of the forthcoming production:
“ The Wind In The Willows is a wonderful story and perfect for family audiences. We’re looking forward to presenting the show at the Crescent Theatre with its welcoming and intimate auditorium that will enable the audience to feel like they really have joined Ratty, Mole, Toad and Badger on the riverbank.”
Kenneth Grahame’s classic riverbank story, The Wind In The Willows tells the charming tale of Ratty, Mole, Badger and Toad as they embark on a glorious adventure that leads to Toad Hall, to the perilous wild wood and finally to battle. Adapted for the stage by Alan Bennett and featuring his own brand of nostalgia and comedy, The REP’s production is guaranteed to keep audiences of all ages entertained and enthralled. The show will be at the Crescent Theatre on 28 November 2012 until 19 January 2013.
To celebrate The REP’s 99th Birthday and announcement of the theatre’s 2012 Christmas production of The Wind In The Willows, the first 99 tickets on sale this morning were sold for just 99 pence each!
