Open Doors Weekend
The REP and the new Library of Birmingham will be throwing open our doors to the public as part of the forthcoming Open Doors Weekend a nationwide series of events inviting members of the public to visit working construction sites.
Following a brief introduction to the site, visitors will be able to view how construction of a world class public building located in a very active city centre has had its challenges, successes and achievements. They will view an innovative induction video that takes them through the journey of the Library. Followed by open discussion with some of Carillion’s key staff of all ages and backgrounds to provide a personal view of the importance of construction and hopefully inspire some towards a potential career path.
Visitors will then be given an overview tour of the project. The visit will be concluded with visitors viewing project displays and an opportunity to take part in an on-site competition.
Tours last approximately an hour and will take place on Friday 9 Nov 2012 at 10:00, 11:15, 13:30 and 14:45 and on Saturday 10th Nov 2012 at 10:30 and 11:45. A maximum of 20 people are permitted on each tour.
