Scrooge Hosts Late Night Cabaret Event In Aid of Shelter
Star of A Christmas Carol Peter Polycarpou, along with fellow actors will be hosting a special late night cabaret in aid of the housing and homelessness charity Shelter at The REP.
The evening entitled A Ghost of a Chance will be held on Friday 18 December in Wine Republic at The REP and will feature actors from the theatre’s current production of A Christmas Carol. Featuring light-hearted songs, readings and poetry based around the theme of ghosts and memories, the event promises to be an entertaining evening.
Peter Polycarpou of Birds Of A Feather fame, and who is currently appearing as Ebenezer Scrooge in A Christmas Carol at The REP, explains the reason behind the evening:
“In A Christmas Carol Scrooge gets a chance to reflect upon his life and to change his ways and be a little bit more open-hearted and generous at Christmas time. This time of year can be especially lonely and difficult for anyone dealing with homelessness and so I think it’s particularly fitting to try and raise some money for Shelter. All of us who have been involved in the production of A Christmas Carol wanted to do something to raise money to help the valuable work that the charity does. The cabaret evening will be a fitting tribute to the charity and an entertaining evening for all.”
A Ghost Of A Chance – a special late night cabaret in aid of the housing and homelessness charity Shelter will be held at Birmingham Repertory Theatre on Friday 18 December at 10pm. The event is not ticketed and admission is free but attendees will be asked to make a generous donation to Shelter.
