Generous Sainsburys Staff Fundraise For The REP
The staff and customers at the Sainsburys store on Broad Street in Birmingham have been working with The REP to raise an amazing £1300 towards our work.
Sainsburys customers and colleagues are invited to nominate a local charity, with the three most popular charities asked to present to the company’s Colleague Councils to make a final selection. The REP was nominated by Sainsburys Broad Street customers as their Local Charity of the Year for 2009-2010.
The scheme aims to encourage Sainsburys staff to play an active role in their community by supporting a local charity that is personal to them through volunteering and fundraising.
Throughout 2009 Sainsburys staff have raised money through book sales, a Wear Your Nightclothes to Work day, Halloween collections and many more activities.
The REP’s Development Manager Anya Sampson was pleased to receive a cheque for £1300 from Sainsburys staff Emily and Pearl. All the money raised will go to support the work of The REP, both onstage and in the community. The REP is the nominated Local Charity of the Year until the end of March 2010 and Sainsburys staff will continue to raise money through future activities including a Valentine’s Day raffle.
