Casting announced for Our Country's Good

The cast for Our Country’s Good has been announced. The company of ten will be at The Old Rep from 25 September 2012 as part of The REP’s off-site programme.

The company includes a number of actors who will be familiar to REP audiences. Ciaran Owens who played The Prince in our 2011 Christmas production of Sleeping Beauty will be returning, as will Lisa Kerr from 2010’s production of The Big Fellah and Matthew Needham from 2009’s production of The Grapes Of Wrath

Also performing in Our Country’s Good will be Damola Adelaja who appeared in the MEN Theatre Award winning A Raisin In The Sun and Helen Bradbury who played Rachel Perlmutter in Upstairs Downstairs.

Joining them will be Laura Dos Santos whose television credits include Wallander, Bad Girls, and Fingersmith and who was nominated for an Evening Standard award for her role in the West End production of Educating Rita and John Hollingworth, who most recently appeared in the Donmar’s production of Making Noise Quietly and the National Theatre tour of Earthquakes In London.

Completing the cast will be Kathryn O’Reilly, who has previously appeared in Out Of Joint’s Mixed Up North and the BAFTA award winning film Random; Ian Redford, whose extensive stage and screen work includes many previous Out Of Joint productions and two years as Keith Appleyard in Coronation Street and Dominic Thorburn who most recently appeared in Henry V and The Winter’s Tale for Propeller Theatre Company.

Directing the play will be Max Stafford-Clark, Artistic Director of Out Of Joint. Max directed the premiere production of Our Country’s Good at the Royal Court Theatre in 1988, which transferred to the West End and Broadway.
